Our Mission

Common Thread Practice exists to strengthen domestic and family violence-informed practice across systems, services and communities.

We believe that the way domestic and family violence is understood shapes the way it is recognised and responded to. Through workforce development, practice development and collaboration, we support safer, more connected and more accountable responses to violence.

Grounded in children's rights, social justice, accountability and collective responsibility, we work alongside practitioners, leaders and organisations to strengthen understanding and contribute to safer, more connected and more accountable responses to domestic and family violence.

Common Thread Practice acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work. We pay respect to Elders past and present and acknowledge the ongoing strength, wisdom and resistance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Common Thread Practice is committed to inclusive, affirming and safer practice for LGBTQIA+ individuals, families and communities.
